Ministry and Vocal Ensembles
30 hours a week; salary range is $22,000 to
$33,000+; paid
holiday, vacation, sick leave included
POSITION SUMMARY
Take the
leadership role in establishing and implementing a shared vision to invite,
equip, and inspire music staff, music groups, and the wider church community
to glorify God through music.
Reports to
Pastor, Head of Staff
RESPONSIBILITIES
Administrative:
Oversee
all music ensembles.
Coordinate and schedule all music ministry programs/groups within the church
calendar.
Establish clear and regular communication with
pastors, music staff, program staff, and church ministry teams.
Work with pastors and program staff to coordinate music with worship themes.
Actively participate and contribute during the weekly church staff meeting.
Contribute to the annual evaluation of the music staff.
Engage with the music ministry team to fulfill the music ministry vision.
Assist in search and call process for vacancies within the music ministry
staff.
Prepare annual expense budget in support of music
programs for approval by the music ministry team and Administrative Board.
Oversee all music ministry expenditures (including guest musicians, new
music, refurbishing or replacing instruments, etc.).
Maintain and
update music library.
Perform
other duties as required by Head of Staff.
Performance Groups:
Adult Choir
- Oversee and direct the adult vocal choir. This includes helping adults
discover and utilize their God given musical gifts.
Youth Music
Ministry - Oversee and lead the youth (grades 6th-12th)
music ministry. This includes
recruiting and directing adult volunteers to help youth realize and utilize
their God given musical gifts. Collaborate with Youth Director and Youth
ministry team to enrich our youth ministry.
Children’s
Music Ministry - Oversee and lead the children’s (grades K-5th)
music ministry. This includes
recruiting and directing adult volunteers to help children realize and
utilize their God given musical gifts. Collaborate with Children’s Ministry
Director and Children’s Ministry Team to enrich our children’s ministry.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in music or related field, with 5
years directing vocal groups desired. Administrative or management
experience desired. Experience with instrumental ensembles desired.
Or
High School Diploma or GED with ten or more years
directing vocal groups with administrative or management experience
required, some instrumental experience desired.
